Sarah Warner's 13-year-old son Gideon serenaded wedding guests with Nat King Cole's "L-O-V-E" and improvised jokes mid-performance
Warner's older children walked her down the aisle while her daughter officiated to make the wedding a family event
Gideon also walked Warner's husband down the aisle and served as the ring bearer, deeply touching his stepfather
After Sarah Warner walked down the aisle, she had one more surprise in store.
In February, the 48-year-old Salt Lake City mom posted about a sweet moment with her 13-year-old son Gideon on TikTok after she'd tied the knot with her husband. Warner, who welcomed her teenage son from a previous relationship, captured the heart-warming moment when Gideon serenaded the wedding guests with "L-O-V-E" from Nat King Cole.
In the now-viral clip, Warner and her husband, Ruel Brown, 53, could be seen standing on one side while Warner held a bouquet, listening as her son sang. "POV: You find love after divorce and your baby sings at the wedding," she wrote over the clip.

Now, Warner tells PEOPLE that while having her son sing at the wedding wasn't necessarily a surprise, she didn't know he was going to improvise some of it.
"I had asked my son Gideon to sing at the wedding. He sings constantly, and I really wanted him to be a part of the big day," says Warner. "Since my husband has been in his life since he was little, it felt like it was as much his day as it was ours."

"My older two children walked me down the aisle, and my daughter officiated, as I wanted the wedding to be a true family event. My husband doesn't have children of his own, so involving everyone made it extra special for him," she explains.

Warner shares that her son picked the song himself and even improvised a part in the middle where he began speaking to the crowd and telling jokes.
"That part was a total surprise and very funny. He has always been a natural performer and is very comfortable in front of an audience," she shares. "He actually learned to sing from his older sister, who watched him while I worked after my divorce. She was a theater student and really took him under her wing; she is now performing improv with Second City in Chicago."
Singing wasn't the only part that Gideon played in the wedding. Warner says that he had one more special role during the big day.
"In addition to singing, Gideon walked my husband down the aisle and served as the ring bearer," she says.
"He played a significant role throughout the day, and my husband was incredibly touched by his involvement."
