A security guard has publicly apologized over Chappell Roanâs alleged drama with Jude Lawâs 11-year-old daughter Ada.
âI take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st. I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan,â security guard Pascal Duvier wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, March 25. âThe actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals.â
Controversy swirled over the weekend when soccer star Jorginho claimed his 11-year-old stepdaughter â whom he did not name but was presumed to be his wife Cat Cavelliâs daughter with ex Law â had an upsetting interaction with one of Roanâs security guards. Cavelli and her daughter Ada were seemingly staying at the same hotel as Roan, 28, ahead of her headline slot at Lollapalooza Brazil on Saturday, March 21.
âMy daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her,â Jorginho (real name Jorge Luiz Frello Filho) wrote via Instagram. âAnd the worst part is she didnât even approach her. She simply walked past the singerâs table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didnât say anything, didnât ask for anything.â

The athlete, 34, claimed that âa large security guardâ allegedly approached Cavelli, 34, and Adaâs table and âbegan speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldnât allow my daughter to âdisrespectâ or âharassâ other people.â
âMy daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot,â Jorginho wrote.
Duvier offered his own explanation for the alleged confrontation as part of his public apology on Monday.

âI made a judgment call based on information we obtained from the hotel, events I had witnessed in the days prior and the heightened overall security risk of our location,â he wrote. âMy sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions, and the outcome of the encounter is regretful.â

Us Weekly has reached out to Roan and Jorginho for comment.
Roan addressed the situation in multiple Instagram Stories on Sunday, March 22, where she denied any responsibility for the security guardâs alleged encounter with Ada and her mother.
âI did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. I did not,â Roan insisted. âThey did not come up to me. They werenât doing anything. Itâs unfair for security to just assume someone doesnât have good intentions when they have no reason to believe because thereâs no action even taken.â
She went on, âI do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children, like that is crazy. Iâm sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something. ⊠If you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.â

Cavelli broke her silence on Sunday, March 22, to address Roanâs denial.
âChappell has responded saying that it wasnât her security and that she didnât do it,â she explained via Instagram. âSo, 100 percent this security guard was not a security guard of the hotel â that is what I can say. He looks after artists, so I donât know if it was her personal security guard but he was with her. That is all I know.â
Cavelli went on, âDid she send him to do it? Again, I donât know. Look, I would like to hope not but at the same time, I think that you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure, I guess, that the people who work with you and act on your behalf are acting on your behalf.â
