Romantasy fans have been patiently awaiting a new novel from Sarah J. Maas for years, and the past day has left them with more questions than answers.

Maas, known for her BookTok-beloved series “A Court of Thorns and Roses” and “Throne of Glass,” will be Alex Cooper’s next guest on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast. The episode airs March 4 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. "Call Her Daddy" has shared an exclusive clip of the podcast with USA TODAY ahead of the episode.

Fans have been abuzz since Maas' July Instagram post about the draft of ACOTAR’s sixth book being done. In our exclusive sneak peek, Cooper interrogates about the post that “quite literally lit the internet on fire.”

“Fans could not tell if it was an arrow or if it was a ‘6-8’,” Cooper says. “Everyone has been freaking out. And so I have the pleasure of sitting across from you and so I have to ask, Sarah, what is going on?”

What will Sarah J. Maas announce on 'Call Her Daddy'?

You’ll have to wait until this evening to see what’s behind Maas’ coy smile. It hasn’t stopped fans from speculating, however, about what Maas will share on the podcast.

The postulating began even before Cooper officially announced the appearance on the podcast, hinting at her next guest in a video standing in front of a bookshelf with Maas’ books. “WHO’S BOOKED NEXT? ;)” she captioned the video.

“how to summon the Maasverse,” one reader commented. Fans were bubbling even earlier this week on social media when Maas and Cooper followed each other on Instagram.

Maas’ series, which first published in 2015, contains five books: “A Court of Thorns and Roses,” “A Court of Mist and Fury,” “A Court of Wings and Ruin,” “A Court of Frost and Starlight” and “A Court of Silver Flames.” It’s been almost exactly five years since the last one published.

Regardless of when the next ACOTAR is coming, fans are already placing bets about which character it’ll follow. Will it be Elain? Mor? Lucien? Nesta?
