Robert Carradine’s Daughter, Actress Ever Carradine, Shares Touching Tribute After His Death: ‘We Were in It Together’

Robert Carradine’s family confirmed his death at 71 after a long battle with bipolar disorder

His daughter, Ever Carradine, subsequently shared a heartfelt tribute, praising her father’s love, kindness, and unwavering support

His niece, Martha Plimpton, called Robert the “best actor," and remembered his inherent kindness

As the tributes pour in for actor Robert Carradine, several Hollywood stars, who are also relatives of the late Revenge of the Nerds star, are honoring their beloved family member.

Ever Carradine, Robert’s 51-year-old daughter, took to Instagram to remember her father after the family shared that the Lizzie McGuire star had died in a statement to Deadline on Monday, Feb. 23.

The family shared that Robert died at age 71 after a “valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder.”

In a personal tribute, Ever, who is also an actress, best known for her role as Naomi in The Handmaid’s Tale, shared memories of her beloved father on Instagram.

“My dad died today,” Ever captioned a series of family photos. “My sweet, funny dad, who’s only 20 years older than I am… If you knew my dad, you know he’s the guy that’s always there.”

Ever went on to praise Robert for always showing up for her and others he loved.

“Growing up in the 70s and 80s with a single dad in Laurel Canyon is not exactly the recipe for a grounded childhood, but somehow mine was,” Ever continued. “Whenever anyone asks me how I turned out so normal, I always tell them it’s because of my dad. I knew my dad loved me, I knew it deep in my bones, and I always knew he had my back.”

The actress added that she and her dad “basically grew up together,” noting, “Twenty years age difference really isn’t that much, and while I never ever thought of him as a sibling, I did always think of him as my partner. We were in it together. I never wanted to let him down, and I wanted him to trust that I had his back the same way that he had mine.”

She praised her father for being “a lover, not a fighter,” asking anyone who sees her to “ask me about my dad, Bobby Carradine, who made me who I am.”

“He was all heart, and in a world so full of conflict and division, I think we can all take a page out of his book today, open our hearts and feel and share the love," she continued, concluding, "Rest easy, dad. I love you the most.

Actress Martha Plimpton, Robert’s niece, also took to Instagram to share her touching tribute.

“My Uncle Bobby was the best one of all 8 brothers; blood, adopted, and step. Out of all of them, he was the absolute best,” she captioned a photo of her uncle.

The Goonies star, 55, insisted that Carradine was “the best actor of the bunch” adding, “By a THOUSAND MILES.”

“He had an inherent KINDNESS in him,” she continued. “He was dear, and loving, and nonjudgmental. And he loved honestly. He made mistakes like anyone else, like any human. But he never lost his decency, or his heart.”

Robert's death was confirmed by his family in a statement to Deadline on Monday, Feb. 23. “It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away," the statement began.

"In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon on light to everyone around him," the statement continued. "We are bereft at the loss of this beautiful soul and want to acknowledge Bobby’s valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder. We hope his journey can shine a light and encourage addressing the stigma that attaches to mental illness. At this time we ask for the privacy to grieve this unfathomable loss. With gratitude for your understanding and compassion."

In addition to Ever, Robert is survived by kids Ian and Marika, whom he shared with his ex-wife Edie Mani.
