Rob Gronkowski joked about being Tom Brady’s “wingman” and suggested Brady date someone kind with positive energy

Gronkowski, in a 13-year relationship with Camille Kostek, avoided confirming if a proposal is in their future
Rob Gronkowski has the ideal example for his pal Tom Brady‘s next partner.
The 37-year-old retired NFL star appeared on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Thursday, Sept. 24, when he was asked about what characteristics Brady needed in his next relationship.
“You’re right, I am the wingman,” Gronk admitted, joking that he was going to “get messy” with his answer.
But thanks to some coaching from co-host Sheinelle Jones, Gronkowski kept things tame, saying Brady, who divorced supermodel Gisele Bündchen in 2022, needed someone, “Very kind, sweet, they’ve got a great soul, very positive energy.”

He even gave a shoutout to his mom, Diane Gronkowski-Walters, saying, “Someone like my mother, she’s very sweet.”
However, he quickly amended the suggestion, noting, “Not my mom, but someone like my mom.”
He then joked, “She would be like that’s the best birthday present ever!”
As for Gronkowski, he’s been in a long-term relationship with girlfriend Camille Kostek for 13 years.

When guest co-host Justin Sylvester asked the former athlete if he was heading to Jared, to “ring shop,” he replied, “Not Jared. But that’s a good choice. I’ve got nothing bad to say, but it’s a specialty place if it was to happen.”

But Gronkowski wouldn’t budge when asked if a proposal to Kostek was in his future.
“You can’t put me on the spot like that!” the former Patriots star teased.
Back in May, Kostek opened up about her future with Gronkowski on PEOPLE’s WAG World digital series.
“When I was 21, I definitely thought I would have been married with kids by now, and sometimes I go back and I judge myself — or even now, I’ll be like, ‘Wow, I’m behind,’ ” she said.

Kostek met Gronkowski when she was a cheerleader for the Patriots and he was playing on the team.
“I was talking to Rob’s mom the other day. It was Mother’s Day. I was like, ‘Remind me again when you had your first?’ And she was like, ‘I was 22,’ ” she previously shared with PEOPLE. “I sat down and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. I’m so behind.’”
But she added that “Momma Gronk” reminded her that “everyone has their own journey.”
