Fashion’s fiercest competition is back for another season.

Freeform will air Project Runway season 22 on Thursday, July 9, with season 4 winner Christian Siriano returning as a mentor and Heidi Klum, Law Roach and Nina Garcia coming back as judges.

They will be joined by a new (yet familiar) face on their panel: Tyra Banks. She previously appeared on the series as a guest judge in season 21.

“In late 2025, the runway called,” the former America’s Next Top Model host wrote in a June 2026 Instagram post announcing her new role. “I answered. But in a totally different way.”

More recently, Klum has been counting down the days until the reality show’s premiere, writing in a July 2026 Instagram post, “Project Runway 22 Seasons later …. 🥹❤️ Where has the time gone ?”

Season 22 of Project Runway will premiere with a special two-episode event on Thursday, July 9, per Hulu.

A lengthier debut tracks with the fact that it’s the reality competition show’s biggest installment to date, as a whopping 22 designers are competing to take their fashion careers to the next level.

In addition to its celebrity panel of judges, other familiar faces will hit the catwalk this season.

Members from the Dancing with the Stars cast — including Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten, Val Chmerkovskiy, Jenna Johnson, Emma Slater, Ezra Sosa, Britt Stewart and Julianne Hough — are set to appear, as well as stars from Hulu’s Get Real universe like Charity Lawson, Sarah Jane Nader and Ekin-Su.

“We thought it’s 22 seasons why not start with 22 designers?” Klum said during a June 2026 appearance on Good Morning America, teasing that she had to say goodbye to multiple contestants in the first episode.
