Princess Beatrice has kept busy since her father, the former Prince Andrew, was stripped of all of his royal titles and privileges last month.

She made her first official appearance on November 10 as part of her patronage with Borne, a charity that works to end premature births.

The next night, on November 11, Beatrice stepped out with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi for their first appearance together since the Andrew fallout.

One day after her first official appearance since her father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s titles were stripped, Princess Beatrice made her first public appearance alongside her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, since the shakeup with Andrew happened last month.

The couple, married since 2020, attended an event on November 11 hosted by Beatrice at Battersea Power Station in London in support of her patronage with Borne, which works to end premature birth. Beatrice gave birth to her second daughter with Edo, Athena Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, prematurely in January and became patron of Borne two months later in March.

Beatrice wore a floral dress from a favorite brand, The Vampire’s Wife, to the event, which was held ahead of World Prematurity Day on November 17. On November 10, Beatrice donned a lab coat as she visited Chelsea and Westminster Hospital—where Athena was born earlier this year—to learn more about the groundbreaking work done by Borne to understand why babies are born early, Hello! reported.

After Athena’s premature birth, Edo wrote of his daughter, “She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her. Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena.”

“A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time,” he added.

Beatrice spoke about her experience giving birth prematurely in an emotional essay for British Vogue, where she wrote, “Nothing quite prepares you for the moment when you realize your baby is going to arrive early. There’s so little control. The uncertainty leaves you with an overwhelming fear of the unknown.”

“What I learnt in this process has been humbling,” she continued.

In addition to Athena, Beatrice and Edo are parents to 4-year-old Sienna Elizabeth and 9-year-old Christopher Woolf—known affectionately as Wolfie, and Edo’s son from a previous relationship. Friend and The Real Housewives of London star Juliet Angus previously told Hello! of the couple, “They’re the sweetest, and they’re adorable.”

“I love their relationship and how cute and modern they are,” she added. “I love that they’re a blended family—rules don’t have to be such big rules anymore.”

Though Beatrice and her younger sister Princess Eugenie will retain their princess titles and Her Royal Highness stylings even after their father was stripped of all of his royal titles and privileges, the drama will still have a “devastating effect” on the sisters, said Ailsa Anderson, a former press secretary to Queen Elizabeth.

“Even though they keep their titles, the ripple effect will have consequences for the rest of their lives,” she told People.
