Authorities are investigating another note regarding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, as the mother of "Today" anchor Savannah Guthrie has been missing since the night of Jan. 31.
The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department said they received a "new message" regarding Nancy Guthrie and are investigating it, according to a Friday X post.
"Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity," the department wrote.
Arizona-based news station KOLD confirmed on social media that it also received the new note on Friday.
On Feb. 3, KOLD reporter Mary Coleman told CNN that TMZ and KOLD reportedly received a ransom note in the case that allegedly mentioned a deadline, dollar amount and specific details that only Guthrie's abductor might know.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office in Arizona received a 911 call reporting Nancy Guthrie missing from her home outside Tucson around noon local time on Sunday, Feb. 1.
One ransom letter included two specific deadlines at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, in Arizona and another on Monday, Feb. 9, but there has been no contact to discuss terms, according to FBI special agent Heith Janke. "Those are the time frames we are looking at as we move forward," Janke told reporters Thursday.
'Imposter' ransom note debunked by police, suspect arrested
Janke said on Tuesday, Feb. 3, that authorities arrested someone in connection with an "imposter ransom demand" and that a criminal complaint against the individual would be presented to a judge. Warning any impostors trying to profit from Nancy's disappearance, he said, "We will investigate and ensure you are held accountable for your actions."
Derrick Callella, a Southern California man accused of allegedly transmitting a false ransom demand to the family, was arrested on Feb. 5 in Hawthorne, California, located just south of Los Angeles International Airport, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona announced.
According to the criminal complaint, he faces two federal charges: allegedly transmitting communication containing a demand or request for a ransom for the release of any kidnapped person and also making a phone call, without disclosing his identity, with the intent to abuse, threaten or harass a person.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department said it would not hold a news conference Friday or anytime for the foreseeable future until a meaningful update was available.

In a short Instagram video posted Thursday, Feb. 5, Savannah Guthrie's brother Camron Guthrie addressed whoever wrote the letter, following the first deadline at 5 p.m. local time.
"Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from you," he said. "We haven't heard anything directly. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward. But first we have to know that you have our mom. We want to talk to you and we are waiting for contact."

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the FBI at 1-(800)-CALL-FBI. A $50,000 reward is available for whoever offers information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie or the arrest of anyone involved in her disappearance.
