The *Stranger Things* actress discussed her friendship with Tom Cruise during a conversation with *Happy Sad Confused*'s Josh Horowitz in New York City on Wednesday.

"He's a dear friend," Brown said of the *Top Gun* star (via PEOPLE). "He's a wonderful man and I'm very lucky to call him my friend."

She added, "Tom does the craziest stuff. I think he's trying to get me to somehow fly a plane at some point."

The *Enola Holmes* actress previously said that she felt like she was channeling Cruise while performing her own stunts in the fantasy adventure film *Damsel*.

"You're just like, 'Are we really gonna, like, am I really gonna do that stunt?' And then that day they're like, 'Yep, put the harness on,' and I just, like, did the stunt as if it wasn't, you know, Tom Cruise–level stuff. I felt like Tom Cruise," she said on *The Drew Barrymore Show* in 2024. "In this film, I feel like the female version of Tom Cruise. I did all my own stunts from start to finish. And I'm really scared about doing my own stunts. Stunts are scary. ... You're just like, 'I'm not physically trained to do this.'"

In 2024, Glen Powell told *British GQ* that Cruise flew him in a helicopter to London after filming reshoots for 2022's *Top Gun: Maverick* — and said that the *Jerry Maguire* star pulled a terrifying prank on him in the middle of the flight.

"Tom goes 'oh no, oh no,' and he starts dropping the helicopter over London," the *Twisters* star said. "I was like, 'Am I about to be the unnamed guy that dies with Tom in a smoking hole in the middle of London?'"

Earlier this year, Ryan Gosling said that Cruise flew a helicopter to the set of *Star Wars: Starfighter*, where he helped director Shawn Levy shoot a lightsaber sequence. "Tom Cruise flew his helicopter onto set," the *Barbie* star said on *Happy Sad Confused*. "They were just shooting, and they heard a helicopter, they had to cut. And it was Tom Cruise. He lands in the middle of set. He takes a camera, and he just starts shooting the action scene.”
