Michael Kors has listed his massive Fire Island beach compound in Suffolk County, N.Y., for $6.25 million

Michael Kors has listed his stunning beach compound on New York's Fire Island for $6.25 million.

The 66-year-old fashion designer's oceanfront property features a main house and a guesthouse connected by a stone path. The property, situated on a 10,000-square-foot lot, boasts 200 feet of sweeping Atlantic Ocean views.

Kors and his husband, Lance Le Pere, bought the property over a decade ago for an unknown sum, the Wall Street Journal reports. According to the listing, the property was built in 2014.

It's one of just 48 homes near the protected Fire Island National Seashore, located in Suffolk County, N.Y. Meg Smith and Nate Larson of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty hold the listing.

While giving Vogue a tour of his home in 2015, the designer told the outlet that he's drawn to a “beach-bum life,” and that his “idea of perfect” is “commutable barefoot luxury.” At the time, Kors made sure to highlight Studio 54 designer Scott Bromley as the architect of his modern beach home.

Inside both homes, there's a noticeable lack of color on the walls and in the furniture, which Kors told the outlet was intentional.

“I have this weird thing that people are the color in the room,” he said at the time. “Also, if you travel the way we travel, you kind of end up buying things everywhere. So how do you make them work? We slap our hands and never buy anything colorful."

He added, "It's not that I wouldn't love bright-green pottery from Thailand, but it would take too long to figure out where to put it.”

Looking inside the homes, the main house was designed with “constant connection to the ocean” in mind, per the listing. It features one bedroom, one full bathroom, a custom jacuzzi and an outdoor deck area.

A “serene sleeping suite” takes up the entire first floor, while the second floor boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with relaxing views of the surrounding scenery.

Meanwhile, the guesthouse is meant to be more of a “social hub,” with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It also includes a pool, multiple sun decks, a bar and an outdoor kitchen.

Both homes feature a neutral color palette with light wooden accents and extensive glass windows overlooking the ocean.
