Meghan Markle ignited a heated online debate after offering life advice to a group of young girls while promoting one of her latest projects.
The Duchess of Sussex featured in a new video supporting Cookie Queens, a documentary she executive-produced alongside her husband, Prince Harry, through their Archewell Productions company.
In the Tasty video, Meghan appeared alongside Cookie Queens director Alysa Nahmias and three Girl Scouts - Niki, Shannon-Elizabeth and Olive. When one of the girls asked her about a piece of advice she received as a child that "still guides her to this day", Meghan replied, "Keep a good heart." It comes as the Duchess of Sussex has recently denied Martha Stewart's dinner party claim about her King Charles trip.

She elaborated, "I just think it's one of those simple things you can always remember no matter what situation you're in," the Duchess of Sussex continued. "Just go, 'Keep a good heart.'"
However, many fans were left unimpressed with her response, particularly in light of her previous criticism of the Royal Family and her fractured relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, and took to social media to voice their opinions. One X user wrote, "I guess Meghan never took this advice."

Another added, "You have to have a good heart to keep a good heart." A third commented, "If someone had to go this hard about being kind and a good human, it usually means they're a s---ty person."

A fourth chimed in, "In one ear & out the other obviously." While a fifth user wrote, "A good heart, Meghan? I'm not even sure you have a heart."
Fans embraced the duchess's response, with one enthusiast declaring, "The type of wholesome content I like! I can't wait to see Cookie Queens!!!"
The film, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, chronicles "four tenacious girls (who) strive to be a top-selling 'Cookie Queen', navigating an 800 million dollar business in which childhood and ambition collide."

In January, Meghan gave a speech at Sundance championing the project, which she described as a "powerful and meaningful depiction of something that is an American tradition."
"This film is probably the cutest at the festival but I'm also going to go out on a limb and say it is one of the most powerful and meaningful depictions of something that is an American tradition and rooted in nostalgia," she said at the time.
"It is now put through this lens from the incredible creative vision of Alysa to show something modernized about the girlhood experience and all the layers of complexity that come with that.
"So yes, it's cute, and yes, these young ladies are fantastic and adorable, but they are also layered beautiful girls who are about to become very strong leaders and young women. So thank you for supporting that."
