Meghan just got greedy again - and royal fans will be shaking their heads in disbelief

Is Meghan taking us all for 'flush with cash' mugs? (Image: Jonathan Brady/PA Wire)Meghan Markle and Prince Harry love driving around in their fleet of blacked-out cars but they're taking us all for a ride, writes Chris Riches.
If Meghan Markle thinks Britons and Americans are awash with cash and just looking for something to waste it on, she hasn't filled her car up with petrol recently. Many of you will have heard of her As Ever online brand of scented candles, jams and flower sprinkles - after all, how have you survived without them?
But in the very early pre-Halloween build-up to Christmas, the Duchess of Sussex dropped a chocolate bomb on the US with the unveiling of her new Holiday Advent Calendar, which costs around $148. The calendar contains 24 handcrafted chocolates in a keepsake design inspired by Meghan's Montecito home and garden in California and is available only in the States.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace has revealed its own advent calendars for 2026 - and the King's chocolate offering is a staggering $100 cheaper than the Duchess of Sussex's luxurious version, although it contains the same number of chocolates.
Palace unsettled as Prince Harry paid huge sum for talking about grieving Diana
Harry and Meghan just admitted a sad truth - William and Kate will be mightily relieved
Weighing 95g and available on the Royal Collection Trust's website, the $15 Buckingham Palace product "captures the magic of the festive season" at the three royal residences, including Windsor Castle.
I know Prince Harry and Meghan are desperate to rake in the cash with three homes - California, Portugal and now the Cotswolds - to pay for their huge security teams and black-out cars. But their convoy of cars be damned, with £148 chocolate advent calendars, they are taking the planet for a ride.

This is not the first time the Duchess of Sussex has been slammed for the cost of her products on her As Ever website, which centres around that most middle-class of weekend events: hosting a party. You know, the sorts of 'Abigail Party'-style soirees where one of the hosting couples has never worked (because the partner works in finance) and therefore is bored and nurses a mild drinking problem.

Meghan is obsessed with hosting parties, and it was a major theme of her doomed Netflix home-style TV show 'With Love, Meghan'. Her website boasts her Signature Scent Collection, which includes four candles and the As Ever matchbox, for around $256.
Another expensive item customers can buy is a set of two candles and a matchbox, called The Cozy Duo set, which retails for around $128.

Meghan's new advent calendar was created in collaboration with Compartés creative director, Jonathan Grahm. A press release declared "every detail was considered with care, including countdown numbers hand-painted in Meghan's own penmanship using edible gold lustre".
If anything sums up the commercial avenue the Sussexes are keen to pursue, it's this calendar. And clearly, being in the UK is not stopping their commercial money-wagon rolling. Meghan and Harry pride themselves on their privacy, yet are willing to literally sell images of their private home on the side of Advent calendars.
I hate to sound like an early-October Scrooge, but what humbug!
