Consuelos, 55, shared potential concerns that could arise from having completely separate finances from a partner, including bills accidentally getting missed and "financial infidelity."
The Riverdale actor then read off the definition of the term as "when one partner is not forthcoming about where the money is going."
Ripa, 55, quipped, "I'm never forthcoming about that."
"Right. I just assume it's going," Consuelos joked.
'I Always Make Up a Story'

"I always make up a story (about where the money is going) that I think you will find palatable," the mother-of-three replied. "I know you assume that it's going, but I always fudge where it's going and how it's going. You know, you don't ."
Consuelos responded, "I don't ask any questions."
"No, you don't. But if you were, I have a story ready," Ripa said, prompting laughter from the audience.
Consuelos simply shrugged and replied, "Alright, you don't need it," seemingly unbothered by the confession.

But Ripa was undeterred.
"In case you ever asked a question, I have a full story totally prepared," she insisted. "So, you won't even know it's a story. It's gonna fly off my tongue seamlessly. Go ahead, ask me something."

This comes after Ripa and Consuelos revealed the surprisingly low price tag for their wedding. As Radar previously reported, the pair eloped in Las Vegas in 1996 and chose not to opt for any of the typical bells and whistles.
"The money spent on these parties and flowers and rings and dresses, it just doesn’t make sense to me," Consuelos said on a previous episode of Live. "It never made sense to me."
"Our wedding was great. $179, including airfare, thank you!" Ripa shared. "We should start a wedding service."
No 'Sleep Divorce' for Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos

Kelly Ripa said sleeping separately from a spouse felt like a 'punishment.' @LIVEWITHKELLYANDMARK/ABC
30 years later, the couple appears to be going as strong as ever.
While weighing in on the trend of married couples having separate beds, the All My Children actress admitted she wouldn't kick Consuelos off the mattress permanently, even over snoring issues.
"I have feelings about the bed thing," guest host Steve Patterson said on the August 14 episode of the show. "It just feels too separate. I don't know. There's something like, 'Let's get a bigger bed,' or something, but I feel like we should be sleeping on the same surface. Even if we aren't cuddling."
Ripa agreed.
"I am married to someone who took up snoring. Truly, truly, I'm not kidding. He hit 45 and took to snoring," she explained. "And I was like, 'What is this? What is happening here?' But even that has not driven us to separate beds ... That just seems like an extreme form of...I don't know, punishment."
