Kate Middleton made an appearance at Southend-on-Sea to visit with The Forward Trust on September 24.
She wore a houndstooth blazer with a pair of loafers by the British brand Boden.
The outing saw the princess doing a little gardening as she marked Addiction Awareness Week.
Kate Middleton has become famed for her ability to mix high-end and affordable brands—as well as her ability to effortlessly swap between elevated red carpet looks and surprisingly relaxed ensembles. One of her most recent looks was the perfect example of the princess’s sartorial versatility.
On September 24, Kate made a visit to Southend-on-Sea to meet with members of The Forward Trust. She kept things simple in the wardrobe department, opting for a sleek chocolate brown outfit underneath a houndstooth blazer. The real point of interest came with her footwear. Instead of her signature high heels, the Princess of Wales instead opted for a pair of dark brown leather loafers. According to People, the loafers were the Nya Penny Loafers by British brand Boden.

During the visit, which coincided with Addiction Awareness Week, Kate embraced the occasion and got involved with a little gardening as she participated in one of the center’s Forward Growing planting sessions—even though she was sporting a $500,000 ring stack. The sessions take place weekly to help people connect with nature.

Kate’s visit to Southend came just days after a very different outing. On September 22, Kate and her husband Prince William stepped out for the London premiere of Digger, which saw her donning a dramatic sweeping purple gown by Jenny Packham.

The royals met with star Tom Cruise at the event. He later said on The Graham Norton Show, “They are amazing—very charismatic. I had such a good time,” per People.
On September 25, Kate shared photos of yet another type of event—this time, an intimate secret tea party, which she hosted last week at Windsor Castle for fellow participants of the Three Peaks Challenge. She opted for a simple belted purple midi dress.
Clearly, the princess has mastered the art of dressing for the occasion.
