Jonathan Lipnicki was all smiles while celebrating the release of *Primetime*.

The *Jerry Maguire** *actor stepped out on Sept. 23 for the Los Angeles premiere of the Robert Pattinson-led movie, which hit theaters on Friday. Lipnicki wore a green suit and black button-down shirt for the rare public appearance, his first in two years.

While Lipnicki has stepped out of the spotlight following a bout of childhood fame, he’s still continuing his acting career. After starring in *Jerry Maguire *and *Stuart Little*, Lipnicki “was kind of just going to high school” but would “audition here and there,” he told *E! News* last year.

“Acting is this thing that I’ve always loved, and sometimes it just doesn’t love you back,” he added. “And there was a span where I didn’t work for a while and I was pursuing it.”

Lipnicki was photographed alongside *Primetime *director Lance Oppenheim at the premiere, per a photo he shared via Instagram. “Have a 🪑 @primetimemovie is out TOMORROW!” Lipnicki captioned his Thursday social media post.

The actor appears in the film as one of the predators caught by Pattinson’s Chris Hansen.

*Primetime *is a crime thriller, loosely based on the production of* **To Catch a Predator*, which aired via NBC from 2004 to 2007. The movie was inspired by the 2007 article “Tonight on *Dateline* This Man Will Die,” published in *Esquire*.

Oppenheim told * *earlier this week that getting Pattinson to agree to play Hansen was quite the feat — which took some bribery. But that led to the “exact moment” that *The Odyssey** *star agreed to do the film.

“There was one meeting we had about the script, and [screenwriter] Ajon [Singh] and I had stayed at his house until 2:00 in the morning, and we had brought Four Lokos and gummies and some other stuff that kind of reminded us of the show on the way over,” the director recalled, noting that Pattinson might have been “confused” about the entire situation.

“Then, he sort of got it, and we all sat around,” Oppenheim added. “We tried drinking the Four Lokos, but it tasted, for me at least, it was too gross. So I didn’t consume all of it.”

Pattinson agreed to doing the movie, but he had to shoot *The Drama* — alongside Zendaya — first. “I was like, ‘I have this opportunity now. I can’t blow it, and I need to rise to the occasion,’” Oppenheim recalled.

*Primetime *is in theaters now.
