Ken Jennings apologized after a Jeopardy! clue about John Pork sparked backlash online.
The moment originally aired on Oct. 24, in the category “Daddy is there really a...” and quickly prompted questions from viewers.
The clue read, “No: A.I. Generated The TikTok Image of this pig/human eventually killed by Tim cheese.” After reading it, Jennings remarked on-air, “I didn't understand any of that. Who is John Pork?”

John Pork is a viral internet figure known for his digitally created image — a man’s body with a pig’s head — who became a popular meme on TikTok and other platforms. Fans often jokingly say he has “died,” which sparked the ongoing “RIP John Pork” trend online.
Following the episode, one viewer commented on Jeopardy!’s official TikTok account, “John Pork predates AI this is wrong,” calling out the description used in the clue. Jennings later addressed the remark directly on the platform.
“When we played a clue recently on Jeopardy! about John Pork, I remarked that I didn't understand a word of it,” he said in a video posted on the TikTok account on Nov. 1.
“Well, I've had the chance to learn quite a bit since that clue aired about the late Mr. Pork, including the fact that some viewers took exception with our description of him as AI Generated.”
In the same statement, Jennings acknowledged that the show’s wording may not have accurately reflected the origins of the viral figure. “Now, even though AI is used heavily in many of his TikToks, it's possible that wasn't the best wording to refer to his original appearances,” he explained.
“John, I hope he'll forgive me and all of us at Jeopardy!” he added. “For any insult we may have committed against you or your memory.”
Jennings, who first joined Jeopardy! as a contestant in 2004, became a household name after winning 74 consecutive games, the longest streak in the show’s history.
