Halle Berry Reflects on How She Feels About Her “New Face and Body” One Month After Her 60th Birthday

Halle Berry opened up about how her “face and body” are “changing” as she gets older.
“What I’m proud of is that I can learn to accept that and not turn myself into a monster with all kinds of things we could do today,” she said.
Her comments come one month after her 60th birthday.
Halle Berry took a moment to reflect on her relationship with aging just one month after her 60th birthday. Appearing at a panel during the Create & Cultivate’s On Her Own Terms: Halle Berry on Menopause, Aging & Women’s Health event in Los Angeles on September 20, Berry opened up about how she is “embracing” her “changing” appearance as she gets a little older.

“My new face and body,” said Berry, when asked about what she was embracing. “It is changing. I look in the mirror every day and I see, ‘Oh God, there’s one thing that wasn’t there last week,’ but what I’m proud of is that I can learn to accept that and not turn myself into a monster with all kinds of things we could do today.”
She continued, “I can accept aging as a natural part of life and I can know that I’m more than this body and this face that I’m walking around in.”

Berry turned 60 on August 14 and celebrated with an idyllic vacation with her fiancé Van Hunt. She marked the occasion with a series of photos that showed her wearing an open silk gown, along with photos in a plunging black crochet dress. A few days later, she posed on the vacation in an airy white beach dress.
Speaking to NewBeauty ahead of her milestone birthday, Berry admitted, “I can’t say that I thought this is what 60 would be like! I am wildly surprised that I feel like I feel at 60.”
She added, “When I was in my 20s, I thought, ‘Oh, 60 is going to be really old.’ If this is what 60 is, it’s not really old. That’s what I want every woman to know. I feel like my best self. I really do. I have finally arrived to being who I really am. And that’s a really good feeling. Aging is a privilege. I’m so lucky that I’m still here.”
