Fans of The Dukes of Hazzard are sending love and prayers to actress Catherine Bach, best known for her iconic role as Daisy Duke, after a sudden hospitalization.

On Thursday, October 30, her former co-star Ben Jones, who played mechanic Cooter Davenport, shared the concerning news on Facebook. Jones and his wife, Alma, wrote that Bach had been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital "on an emergency basis."

“Breaking news! Our dear Catherine Bach has just been admitted to the hospital in Los Angeles on an emergency basis. Catherine has an embolism that probably developed as a result of a recent surgery. We will keep you posted, and Catherine will share her story as soon as she is recovered. She is so, so sorry to have to cancel her appearance at Cooter’s this weekend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Love, Ben and Miss Alma,” reads the statement from Jones and his wife.

Bach was scheduled to do a meet-and-greet with fans this weekend at Cooter's Place, with the official Instagram account writing, "Catherine Bach, the one and only Daisy Duke, will be appearing at Cooter's Garage in Nashville on Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd! Saturday, November 1: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 2: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM (Catherine must leave promptly at 12:30 PM to catch a flight - no exceptions.) We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to see y'all here for an unforgettable weekend with Daisy Duke herself!"

In the comments on the Facebook post, Dukes of Hazzard fans flooded the post with messages of support:

“Prayers for her. Hopefully she has a speedy recovery,” one person wrote.

“Lots of healing prayers đŸ™đŸŒđŸ™đŸŒ,” added another.

“Catherine Bach, you are in my prayers. Get well soon,” shared a third fan.

“Omg, this is horrible news! Prayers to Catherine for a speedy recovery! ❀‍đŸ©č đŸ™đŸ»,” wrote a fourth.

Bach, 71, rose to fame as the bombshell cousin Daisy Duke on the CBS hit series, which aired from 1979 to 1985. Her wardrobe inspired a cultural phenomenon — the term “daisy dukes” for short denim cutoffs stems directly from her character’s signature style.

Fans continue to cherish Bach’s portrayal, which helped make The Dukes of Hazzard one of the most recognizable shows of the early 1980s.

Parade will update as more information about Bach’s condition becomes available.
