Earlier this week, Rose claimed that Perry sexually assaulted her at a nightclub in Melbourne nearly 20 years ago, which Perry's rep categorically denied

The ex-manager of a nightclub in Melbourne has spoken out about the night Ruby Rose claims Katy Perry sexually assaulted her.

In an interview with the Herald Sun per Rolling Stone Australia on Tuesday, April 14, the ex-manager of the Melbourne nightclub Spice Market claimed the night in question from 20 years ago was a "security nightmare," but claims he was unaware of any incident at the time.

The manager, who was on-site during the alleged evening, confirmed Rose, 40, and Perry, 41, arrived together at the now-defunct venue in August 2010.

“They came in together, they were also with Katy's hair and make-up girl and another guy who was friends with Ruby,” he claimed. “It was a security nightmare because there were 600 people there and Katy kept coming out and dancing with everybody and going right in the middle of the mosh pit.”

He also claimed that the pair spent the night in a sectioned-off VIP section called the Genie Bottle. However, he denied witnessing the alleged incident.

“They were in the Genie Bottle and having drinks and stuff, but were mainly in there doing their own thing,” the manager said. “I wasn't aware of any alleged assault or someone vomiting.”

He claimed that Rose and Perry were both “drunk," but "weren't paralytic or anything."

The manager claimed the staff helped the duo leave the nightclub discreetly.

“Both had way too much to drink,” he alleged. “To avoid people taking photos of them in a state, we organized a car and driver to be waiting outside the Collins St entrance of the hotel. We escorted them out the back and up the fire exit and put them in the car together.”

The manager claimed that Rose and Perry may have then ventured to The Peel Hotel.

Reps for Rose and Perry have not yet responded to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

As of Wednesday, April 15, Perry is reportedly being investigated by the Victoria Police following Rose's allegations that the singer sexually assaulted her, per The Sydney Morning Herald and the Herald Sun.

According to the Herald Sun, detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation team are investigating Rose's allegations.

“Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne's CBD. As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage," a Victoria Police spokesman told The SMH and the Herald Sun.

At that time, PEOPLE has reached out to Victoria Police for comment. A rep for Perry did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

PEOPLE previously reported that Rose claimed that Perry sexually assaulted her during an outing at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne when she was in her “early 20s,”

On April 13, a rep for Perry denied the claims in a statement.

"The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named," the rep said at the time.

Rose confirmed to the Herald Sun on April 14 that she had brought the allegations to the police.

“As of this afternoon, I have finalised all my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved,” the Orange Is the New Black alum shared on Threads that day.

Rose added, “It's going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages, to other people's experiences, but I'm not. This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief. I can start the healing process now. And temporary move forward. I love you all so much.”

One day prior, she wrote on Threads, “Today I will be walking into a police station to see if any of my experiences can be investigated. I imagine they are past their statute of limitations, but all the more reason to try.”

On Sunday, April 12, the model and actress made the claims against Perry in posts she shared on Threads.

At the time, Rose replied to an article shared by Complex about the “Firework” artist reacting to Justin Bieber's recent Coachella performance.

In the comments section, the John Wick: Chapter 2 star claimed, "Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s--- what she thinks."

In a follow-up reply, Rose claimed she was "only in my early 20s" at the time of the alleged incident and that "it has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly."

"Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes," she wrote.

Rose claimed that Perry "saw me 'resting' on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted on her."

Perry sent a short message to her fans on April 14, following the allegations and in an Instagram Stories post wrote, "i love you" alongside an image of her song "By the Grace of God" from her 2013 album Prism.
