Ellen Degeneres made an unexpected appearance on The Graham Norton Show on October 16.

During the appearance, she hinted that she would like to return to TV.

Degeneres stepped back from Hollywood after her talk show ended in 2022.

Is Ellen Degeneres plotting a TV comeback? It certainly seems that way. The former talk show host made an ultra rare TV appearance on October 16 on The Graham Norton Show, a British talk show. During the appearance, Degeneres seemed to hint that she is hoping to make a more permanent return to TV four years after the end of her talk show.

“I’ve nothing really going on and I really miss being on TV,” she admitted. “I miss a lot about it—laughing with the writers and the audience. I think about doing stuff here.”

Degeneres stepped back from TV in 2022 when her long-running show was canceled amid allegations of a toxic workplace on the set of her show. In 2024, she released a comedy special and alluded to the show’s cancellation. “Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me,” DeGeneres said. “I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.” That year, she moved to the U.K. with wife Portia de Rossi.

Although Degeneres may be longing for a new TV gig, it sounds like she isn’t planning on moving back any time soon. “I think it is pretty easy to get on TV here,” she said, referring to her new home.

“You have a pottery show, you have a sewing show, and you even have a show about people watching TV shows,” she said, nodding to British reality shows like The Great Pottery Throwdown, The Great British Sewing Bee, and Gogglebox.

Degeneres later shared photos from her Graham Norton appearance on Instagram, writing, “This was a very good time.”
