DUESSELDORF, May 22 (Reuters) - Some of ‌the world's biggest ‌shipping companies - DHL, FedEx and ​UPS - on Friday called on EU finance ministers to implement a ‌phased approach ⁠to new duties rules on low-value ⁠packages.

In a letter seen by Reuters, the ​companies said: "We ​therefore ​call on ‌Ministers to endorse a phased approach: proceed with the EUR 3 flat-rate duty per item ‌from 1 July ​2026, while ​deferring ​the more complex ‌and unresolved elements ​until they ​are legally certain and operationally viable."
