On Days of our Lives the week of August 24th through 28th, 2026, Abe and Theo mourned, Alex and Stephanie butted heads, Johnny made a confession, Ari overheard an admission, Cat recovered a startling memory, Javi told Leo about his break-up, Gwen was hopeful, Philip made plans with Gabi, Sarah broke bad news to Xander, and Xander packed up the mansion.

Life and Death in Salem

After Lexie’s death, Rolf visited EJ. Furious, EJ blamed Rolf for using his sister in such a catastrophic experiment. Rolf took Lexie’s body and put it in cryo freeze, but he decided to quit his work for the foreseeable future.

Chanel and Johnny named their baby Olivia after Big Momma. Theo broke the news to them about Lexie’s death. Chanel suggested Alexandra for Olivia’s middle name, and Johnny agreed. Paulina was taken back by the news, but she said she understood.

Abe mourned Lexie, and he admitted to Paulina that he would not have handled the situation with Lexie any differently. EJ gave Abe the letters that Lexie had left behind for him and Theo. Lexie’s final request was for a party instead of a funeral. Lexie also mentioned that she was pleased that Abe still had Paulina in his life. Abe asked Roman to help him fulfill Lexie’s final wish to have a party at the pub. Theo told Abe that he believed Johnny was hiding something, and that he did not trust EJ or Johnny.

Johnny confessed to Chanel about how he had hid Lexie based on her wishes. When Chanel asked if Johnny was hiding anything else, Theo interrupted before he could answer. Johnny insisted on handling work for Theo despite the fact that he was on paternity leave. Theo told Paulina that Lexie had said that she was comforted that Paulina would be in Abe’s life. Paulina said Abe needed to make the first move.

EJ ran into Holly in the square, and she lashed out in anger. When EJ asked why, Holly said she was furious that EJ had called in the loan against Titan. Holly told EJ that they were no longer family. Holly let slip that Xander had found a buyer for the mansion, so EJ asked Rita to help him blow up the sale so that he would own the house.

Aaron and Ari hung out in her dorm room, and they played video games. As the two kissed, Holly returned home and interrupted. After Ari left for her internship, Holly teased Aaron about Ari. At DiMera Enterprises, Johnny confronted EJ about his secrets. Ari overheard Johnny talk about how EJ had wronged Holly, and she told Holly. When Holly told Xander, he agreed that it sounded like an admission of guilt. Furious, Sarah lost her temper at EJ. EJ guessed she was still investigating Coriseal, and he asked Rita to look into it.

Under hypnosis, Cat recalled that she admitted to being ISA at EJ’s bedside in Italy. Marlena urged Cat to cut all ties with EJ for her own protection. When Cat ran into EJ, she appeared rattled, but after she learned of Lexie’s death, she went to EJ’s house to comfort him. EJ talked to Cat about regrets. When Cat told EJ about Chad’s trip to Italy, he mentioned that Chad had been helping Belle with Stefano’s puzzle. EJ asked Chad about the puzzle, but Chad refused to tell him anything. EJ asked Rita to look into it for him. Chad and Belle left for Italy.

Break-ups and Make-ups?

Javi told Gabi about his breakup with Gus and he argued that it was unfair. Gabi reminded Javi that he had broken off his relationship with Leo for the same reasons as Gus. Gabi encouraged Javi to confront his emotions rather than run from them. Javi admitted to Leo that Gus had left him, and Leo told Javi that he was upset to see him hurt.

Jack told Gwen he was committed to rebuilding a relationship with her. Leo and Gwen talked about their conversations with Javi and Jack, but only Gwen seemed hopeful. When Chad had been unable to find a candidate for an open editor position, Jack offered the job to Kate.

Philip told Gabi about his plan to fly to Monte Carlo for the poker game, but she refused to hand over the money for the buy-in unless he agreed to take her. Philip told Gabi she needed to pretend to be his fiancee.

Sarah accepted Brady’s offer to move into his apartment on a temporary basis. Although Sarah admitted to Brady that she dreaded Xander’s reaction, Xander took the news in stride. Xander breathed through his anger, and he told Sarah that he agreed with her reasons for the move. Sarah admitted that she was impressed.

Marlena talked to Belle about her trip to Italy, and her concerns about the danger. Belle argued that Stefano would not hurt his son. Marlena told Belle about the last time she had received a chess board from Stefano, and Belle was more determined than ever to finish the game.

Shawn and Jada had a romantic evening together. When Stephanie interrupted, she ran off to the park in embarrassment. Shawn offered to move out, but Jada suggested they just keep their intimate encounters to the bedroom. In the park, Theo and Stephanie consoled one another. Theo invited Stephanie to stay overnight at his house.

Stephanie and Alex argued about their closeness to Theo and Joy. In a moment of frustration, Stephanie told Alex he needed to choose between her and Joy. Alex ran into Belle, and she advised him to make an effort to save his marriage.

Alex arranged for Bonnie to take Kelsey for the night so that he could focus on Stephanie. When Alex talked to Stephanie, she lied about where she had stayed overnight. Before they could enact their getaway plans, Bonnie called to say that Kelsey appeared to have an ear infection. Stephanie assured Alex that they were okay. Theo saw Stephanie kissing goodbye, and he appeared disappointed by the sight.
