Dakota Johnson appeared on Vogue’s “The Run-Through” podcast on September 25.

During the appearance, she opened up about how she responds to seeing speculation about her rumored relationships.

Her comments come amid rumors of a romance with Machine Gun Kelly.

Dakota Johnson has made rare comments about how she handles speculation about her love life amid ongoing rumors about her and Machine Gun Kelly. Speaking on Vogue’s “The Run-Through” podcast on September 25, the actress admitted that she doesn’t “care” about what the public might think.

“Even if I go to dinner with my manager or my lawyer, it’s like, ‘Seen with mystery man.’ I also don’t care,” she said. “I think it’s just futile.”

“People are gonna believe what they wanna believe, and I don’t have the energy to fight for that,” she went on. “I would much rather focus on other things in my life. Every day, there’s something on the internet that’s ridiculous and true or not true, and I don’t care.”

She then joked that people who do speculate about her relationships should “get a life.”

Johnson went on to reflect on why she no longer uses social media to share details about her life. “Maybe when I was in my younger 20s, I had a moment of being on social media just for fun and laughs ’cause I love a clever thing,” she said. “But, I just don’t f--k with it.”

She then added, “I feel really uncomfortable with the constant documenting of people’s lives.”

Johnson has recently been at the center of rumors involved Machine Gun Kelly. The pair were seen spending time together in New York earlier this month. The couple reportedly hung out at Taylor Swift’s NYC home.

A source told People that the pair “have been hanging out and seeing each other under the radar for months now.”

The actress also made some cheeky comments amid the MGK rumors while speaking to Vogue for the October 2026 cover, admitting that does seem to keep ending up dating musicians. “Well, you do know a lot of musicians,” the interview said, referring to her exes Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, along with Role Model. She replied, “They like me. I don’t know what to say. And I like them.”

When the interviewer replied, “What’s not to like?”

Johnson said, “A lot! A lot. Tricky motherfuckers.”
