Corey Feldman was hospitalized overnight after feeling sick on a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles

Doctors ruled out gallstones as the cause of his medical emergency but are investigating other possibilities

Feldman had been touring for the 40th anniversary of Stand by Me and recently visited Michael Jackson's childhood home

Corey Feldman was hospitalized overnight after he experienced a medical emergency on a flight into Los Angeles, a rep for the actor tells PEOPLE.Doctors ruled out gallstones as the cause behind his medical emergency, per his rep. TMZ first reported on Monday, June 15 that Feldman, 54, was rushed to a hospital in L.A. after he arrived at LAX following a flight from Chicago and was met by paramedics at the gate. The outlet reported that Feldman felt sick on the flight and was examined by a doctor who happened to be on board.Feldman posted photos and videos from Chicago and Indiana, where he was participating in a run of shows to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his hit 1986 movie Stand by Me, to Instagram as recently as June 15. The actor stepped out with his costars Jerry O'Connell and Wil Wheaton for the event in Chicago and also shared that he visited a monument to Michael Jackson at the late pop star's childhood home in Gary, Indiana.

Feldman noted in his post that this past weekend marked the final weekend of Stand by Me 40th anniversary shows he and his castmates participated in, but wrote that it was possible they add more dates in the coming months.

Back in March, Feldman described the Stand by Me tour screenings as "like a rock 'n roll tour" when he, O'Connell, and Wheaton caught up with PEOPLE. At that time, Feldman shared that the tour had taken a bittersweet turn following the death of the movie's director Rob Reiner.

"We have this instant connection and it's there. The camaraderie is there, the jokes are there, we have so much fun," Feldman said of the bond he and his Stand by Me collaborators have shared over the years. (River Phoenix, who also starred in the movie, died in 1993 at age 23). "But there's this looming thing hanging over us."
