Chris Evans is adding a new role to his resume: dad!
The *Captain America* star and his wife Alba Baptista have welcomed their first child together, PEOPLE confirmed. The outlet reported that the new parents were joined by their little one — a first for both the Marvel star and the Portuguese actress — on Friday in Massachusetts.
The couple have been linked together since 2022, but have largely kept their relationship private, including not confirming their engagement prior to tying the knot in September 2023.

PEOPLE confirmed that its 2022 Sexiest Man Alive and the *Warrior Nun* star had been dating "for over a year" in November 2022. A year later, Evans confirmed to a crowd at New York Comic Con that he married his girlfriend in two secret wedding ceremonies.
"We kinda had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast, and we did one in Portugal," Evans said, as fans cheered, describing the ceremonies as "wonderful and beautiful." The star went on to say that the couple is enjoying their downtime now that wedding planning is behind them.

Various Marvel Cinematic Universe stars were spotted hanging around Boston the weekend of the couple's wedding, including Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey, Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky, Jeremy Renner, and John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
"Planning a wedding, it's a lot," Evans noted. "For those of you who are married, you know, it takes a lot out of you, but now that we're through that, we've just kinda been enjoying life and gearing up for autumn, my favorite season. It's like the best time of year right now... Now we're just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting."

Evans has always been vocal about his desire to have a family. Last November, during the premiere of his film *Red One,* *Access Hollywood* asked the actor if thinks he'll be a "superhero" dad one day, like his costar Dwayne Johnson's character.
"Yeah, I hope so. Yeah, absolutely," Evans responded. "The title of dad is an exciting one."
Reps for both Evans and Baptista did not immediately respond to **'s request for comment. TMZ was the first to report the news.
