Brooke Hogan is looking back at a pivotal moment in her relationship with her late father, Hulk Hogan.
The 38-year-old musician got candid about how Hulk’s alleged affair with one of her friends changed the trajectory of their bond. In July 2025, Hulk died of a heart attack at age 71.
“A major turning point came after he slept with my friend Christiane [Plante],” Brooke told Us Weekly. “I forgive people very easily — sometimes probably too easily — and I forgave him, but something between us changed afterward. I don’t think he ever related to me in quite the same way again.”

Plante was rumored to have had an affair with the WWE wrestler while he was still married to Brooke’s mother, Linda Hogan. She confirmed the affair in 2008 to the National Enquirer, claiming at the time that it happened when the former couple “privately knew their marriage was ending.”
Hulk and Linda finalized their divorce in 2009 after 26 years of marriage. The former couple, who were also parents to son Nick, had a bitter two-year divorce.
“Our entire family structure changed,” Brooke explained of the divorce. “Over time, things became increasingly complicated until eventually the relationship I had always believed could survive anything couldn’t survive what was happening around us anymore.”

Despite the fact that Brooke said her family had “tremendous love” for one another, she added, “There was also dysfunction, fear, resentment, enormous betrayal, money, fame, image management and decades of unresolved hurt all existing underneath the same roof.”
Brooke added that Hulk was “an excellent father to me for a very long time,” but noted, “I can love my father profoundly and still tell the truth about where he hurt me. I can acknowledge the wonderful things my family gave me while also acknowledging that eventually the dynamic became something I could no longer live inside. Both things can be true.”
Amid a lengthy estrangement from Hulk, Brooke has been open with her struggles surrounding her late father.
“I felt a disconnect. What followed were respectful disagreements that took an emotional toll on me,” she wrote in her tribute to her father on Instagram. “During the last two years, I had to step away to protect my heart.”

During an episode of Rock the Block in May, Brooke added, “Our family has been through a lot, but no matter what we’ve been through, I love my dad.”
