Shaboozey accidentally crashed a couple’s wedding over the weekend.
Just minutes before a bride and groom, who prefer to keep their names private, began their wedding ceremony at Brown’s Owens River Campground near Mammoth Lakes, California, on Saturday, Aug. 8, a group of people passed by them, floating on inner tubes along the mellow Upper Owens River. Among them was Shaboozey, 31.
“Just as we were about to line up, a few of the family members started yelling, ‘The bride is down there,’ and we saw a trail of floats with three dozen people coming up the river toward the ceremony location,” Callie Smith, Southern California wedding planner and day of coordinator, tells PEOPLE.
She continues, “As the planner, I decided to hold off on the ceremony to allow the crowd to float by. When the crowd got closer, they informed us Shaboozey was on the float heading our way.”
Once the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” singer reached the couple, Smith asked him if they could take photos.
She says, “His reply was awesome: ‘Yes! But I’m not getting off the float!’ ”
The K. Rose Events founder quickly whipped out her cellphone to record the special moment. The bride and groom posed and smiled at the edge of the grassy riverbank as Shaboozey floated by behind them. He enthusiastically raised his arms and stuck his tongue out for the camera.

The country music star and the recreational floaters surrounding him also cheered for the couple, with their loudest moment being when they kissed. The group cheerfully lifted beer cans and waved around hats, with one person even holding up their toddler for the shot.

“Once the whole train floated by, we lined up and they got married,” Smith says. “It was a beautiful day!”
Smith posted a video of the brief yet exciting interaction on Instagram the next day, writing, “POV: You’re getting married on the Owens River in Mammoth… and SHABOOZEY floats by 😱.”
“Mid-ceremony in Mammoth Lakes, CA — vows under the Sierra peaks, granite + sage as far as you can see — and Shaboozey makes a cameo coming down the river,” she wrote. “The bride’s face says it all. The groom couldn’t stop laughing. Even I lost it for a second.”
She continued to describe the unexpected moment as “magic” and said it serves as an example of why it’s important to hire a wedding team that can “roll with” unpredictability.
The clip went viral and has amassed over 500,000 likes.

Representatives for Shaboozey did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. However, the singer did comment on Smith’s post. He wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS! From Shabozzey [sic] and @thewoollyrun !! 😂.”
The Woolly Run is an annual five-day trip for lovers of the outdoors with a goal of “building lasting memories” and “camaraderie,” according to its website. Participants may ride dirt bikes, mountain bikes, horses, and more. This year, the event took place from Aug. 5 to Aug. 9, kicking off with camping in the Alabama Hills, followed by three nights along the Owens River.
