Representation for Bonnie Tyler is speaking out amid speculation around the singer's health after she recently underwent emergency surgery.

The Welsh singer's manager previously announced that she had undergone emergency surgery in Portugal and was recovering after the 74-year-old had been put in an "induced coma." Despite the statement assuring fans that the singer was recuperating, fans worried that more tragic news was imminent.

In a message shared to Tyler's website on Tuesday, a representative gave fans another health update on the musician and asserted that her followers should disregard the "lurid and untrue" rumors hinting at the worst.

"As of this morning Bonnie remains seriously ill but stable in hospital in Faro, however her doctors are still positive that she will make a full recovery," the statement reads. "Bonnie's family are very disappointed at the many lurid and untrue rumours now circulating in the media and would like to make it clear that Liberto Mealha does not represent them in any way whatsoever and is not in contact with them regarding Bonnie."
