Brian Austin Green is opening up about his diminishing sex drive as he ages.
“That is a chemical thing. That is testosterone, and that is what men, as they age, start naturally losing,” the 90210 star recently shared.
Green is currently engaged to Dancing With the Stars pro Sharna Burgess, and was previously married to Megan Fox.
Brian Austin Green isn’t afraid to talk about what happens to men after 50.
The star of the beloved series Beverly Hills, 90210 recently opened up about one of the things he’s found men tend to lose as they age.
“As men age, do you notice that your sex drive is lowering?” Green said, reading from a listener question on Saturday’s episode of the I Do, Pt. 2 podcast. “Sure. Absolutely. Of course,” Green answered, without missing a beat.
“That is a chemical thing. That is testosterone, and that is what men, as they age, start naturally losing,” he continued. “You can take supplements and you can, you know, go the opposite direction. But to me, honestly, absolutely — sex drive lowers. There’s no way to avoid that.”

I Do Pt. 2 is co-executive produced and occasionally hosted by Green’s 90210 castmate Jennie Garth. Garth was not present for Saturday’s episode, however, so Green was joined by Bob Guiney, a frequent and early star of the Bachelor franchise.
“Well, when you’re 16, 17, 18, 25, whatever, it’s like, all you think about is sex,” the reality star explained. “It’s like, ‘How am I going to have it? Where am I going to find it?’” But “as you get older, you’ve got so many other things going on in your life, and so many other responsibilities and so many other things.”

Much of the established research on sexual desire affirms Green’s and Guiney’s contention that diminished male sex drive correlates with age. A landmark 2007 study conducted on 2341 men and women in Germany concluded that “sexual desire declined with advancing age,” though men generally “reported more frequent and stronger sexual desire than women” throughout their lifespans.
But some contemporary studies have complicated that inherited wisdom. One 2022 study found that factors such as sexual orientation, relationship status, and self-rated masculinity proved so influential when measuring the male sex drive that broad claims about the consequences of age may only be made irresponsibly.

Whether an individual has had children and if they are an active force in their children’s lives also weighs heavily on their perceived sex drive. Green himself has five children: one son with ex-fiancée Vanessa Marcil, three sons with ex-wife Megan Fox; and one more son with current fiancée Sharna Burgess, to whom Green became engaged in 2023.
