Andy Cohen shared an emotional moment with WWHL viewers on Thursday, June 25, as he remembered his former production manager Kyra Samson.

Samson, daughter of former Miami Marlins president and popular podcast host David Samson, died this week of glioblastoma. She was 28.

“I have some devastating news to share from our Watch What Happens Live family,” Cohen said through tears during the broadcast. “This is hard for me to get through.”

Sharing that Samson died on Tuesday, June 23, Cohen remembered her as “a small but mighty enforcer” with a “sweet smile” and “gentle demeanor.”

“To see Kyra on a bullhorn corralling massive crowds at Bravocon was truly a sight to behold,” he said, smiling. “She's gonna be terribly missed by all of us here and everyone who was lucky enough to know her.”

He then directed viewers to donate to The Kyra Fund set up in Samson's memory to help fund research for glioblastoma, and “help future Kyras out there.”

“We are sending all of our prayers and love to her family and her friends,” Cohen said, getting choked up. “So we love you, Kyra.”

The screen then cut to a photo of Cohen and Samson, who worked on the Bravo talk show for four years.

The Kyra Fund has raised nearly $300,000 in partnership with the Glioblastoma Research Organization in the three days since Kyra's death. Kyra's father David opened up about the The Kyra Fund in the wake of his daughter's death.

“I want Kyra to be the statistic — one of the catalysts that helped stop this pain from impacting other families and other young people,” David told The Athletic on June 25. “I want her to be the end of the road of this devastation. It's a ravaging, unbelievable disease: One day, that's it, and there's no going back.”

Of his daughter's life span, David added, “We're all combining sadness and grief with unbelievable amounts of gratefulness, because she didn't get cheated for those 28 years. Not for a day. But she has been cheated now for what could have been.”

David shared the news of Kyra's death online earlier this week.

“Yesterday, my daughter, Kyra, passed away peacefully after a 9 month and 11 day fight against one of the cruelest diseases I've ever seen up close,” David, 58, wrote on X. “She was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, specifically Glioblastoma. I have felt all of your concern and love for these months and wasn't ready to be anymore specific than I was.”
