Adam Lambert is at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, and his look was compared to Lady Gaga's.

The 44-year-old singer was seen walking the VMAs red carpet on Sunday, September 27, and posing in his all-black outfit. Adam was dressed in a floor-length black robe with a structural black headpiece that appears to spell his name. He wore a smoky-eye makeup look and accessorized with black jewelry such as earrings and a ring. Adam's nails were also painted black, matching the aesthetic.

As his look has circulated online, there were people comparing him to Gaga, who also wore a black structural headpiece with her stage name a few years ago. This comes as there were reports that the 40-year-old pop star welcomed her first baby with fiancé Michael Polansky.

A person had written on X (formerly Twitter), "Temu a-- Lady Gaga."

A second person wrote, with a photo of Lady Gaga in her name headpiece, "We love an iconic headpiece."

Another person just simply posted a GIF of Lady Gaga in the headpiece on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2011, and her saying the word, "Obviously."

There were other comments about loving his look. A person wrote, "He always brings such a unique style to the carpet."

Another said, "OKKKK NOW THIS IS A LOOK."

A third said, "Why are we wasting good outfit concepts on the VMAs?"

The Bad Romance artist first debuted her Gaga name headpiece made by Phillip Treacy on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2011. When Jimmy asked her if she came up with the idea of her headpiece. She said that the headpiece was Phillip's and he made one for the late English Magazine Editor Isabella Blow, so she "stole the idea."

Gaga wore the headpiece again in a photoshoot for V Magazine in 2016 with her French bulldog Asia (who had on her own Phillip headpiece with her name on it).

The renowned Irish hat designer also made a Britney headpiece for Britney Spears in 2001.

Phillip has designed numerous avant-garde headpieces for Lady Gaga over the years, including the 2010 Telephone music video with a telephone hat and recently at the 2026 Grammy Awards when she was performing Abracadabra with a black basket-like hat with red feather embellishments.

Phillip has designed hats for many prominent figures, including Grace Jones, Madonna, and the Duchess of Cornwall.

In 2012, Gaga opened Phillip's show at London Fashion Week as a toastmaster and called the man "the greatest milliner of all time."
